Single on Valentines Day: How to be your own Valentine

Be your own Valentine

To all the people who are single on Valentine's day,

Who says we have to mope around on Valentine's Day? Who says we have to stay at home and cry because we are forever alone?! Who says we have to create evil plans to break up every couple we meet on the street by saying "HOW CAN YOU DO THIS TO ME WHEN I'M PREGNANT WITH YOUR CHILD?!" that last one is a bit tempting I admit.

I think Valentine's day is a perfect time for us to assess whether we love ourselves enough. For how can someone love you if you don't even love yourself? Maybe you just got through a break up and you don't have anyone to spend Valentine's day with or if you've never had anyone to begin with. I'm here to tell you it's ok! :) you'll be ok! Grab some single friends and spend it with them. If everyone around you seems to be head over heels in love and you really are alone, then just spend a nice day taking care of yourself. First, take yourself out for a date. Maybe there's been a movie you've wanted to watch for the longest time or a nice restaurant you've been meaning to go back to. If seeing couples out on the street is too painful (painfully annoying that is), then just make yourself a nice meal at home.

Be your own Valentine and get yourself a present. You don't need a significant other to make you feel special. You need to reward yourself for working so hard and being so strong on Anti-Singles Day! Buy that perfume, nail polish or shoes you've always wanted. Buy yourself an expensive heart-shaped box of chocolates and eat them all while relaxing in your bath tub with some nice candles and a bath bomb. Slip into some nice new lingerie that make you feel sexy yet are so comfortable you can dance in them. Make yourself a DIY detox juice to take care of your well being from the inside out. Then end the day with an overnight mask that will make you instantly gorgeous in the morning. Who knows? When you wake up the next day beautiful and radiant, you might just meet the love of your life.

Spring Pinks! and other Springy things...

Hello Everyone!

How have you all been? I know I have been gone kind of long...

To make up for it, here's a short yet simple tutorial in celebration of spring!

I always feel like Spring is the time to wear more romantic makeup. The wind is just right and it's not too hot or too cold so it just feels right to be soft and feminine during this time of the year.
For convenience, here's the video below!

I'm still working on my acne scars. I'm going to make a video soon of the products I used to get rid of my acne. Acne is my mortal enemy...MUST STOMP IT OUT *gathering army of benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid soldiers*

Yeah...I think I'm real funny sometimes...

Oh and for other springy thing, the other day I was thinking really hard what that rainbow coil thingy that moves by itself when you put it on the stairs was called. And then it hit me! It's a slinky...duhh
Yeah my description was very clear...*sarcasm*

But there will be other Springy videos (the season kind not the coil kind). I'm thinking another fashion one? Haven't done those in a while.

Holiday Cheer

Whether you're religious or not I think Christmas is a fun holiday to celebrate. I think Hanukkah should be too but it seems a little more complicated and I don't even know a thing about Kwanza. I was asked if I had any "Holiday Cheer" the other day at work and I blankly stared at the person for a few seconds before flashing before them my Holiday Nails. I bought new Zoya nail polish when they had their flash promos (I went a little crazy so those two are not the only bottles I bought) and couldn't wait to use them. I used Zoya "Rekah", which is a gorgeous more mature red, on four of my nails. For the ring finger I wanted to try a "Jelly Sandwich" with "Frida", one of the new jelly-like formulas. I applied two coats of "Frida" and then one coat of OPI "Servin' Up Sparkle", which is a great glittery nail lacquer, and then two more coats of "Frida". Though I wish I had done one more coat of the glitter to make it more visible.

I've been neglecting my poor blog lately because my skin had a mental breakdown which resulted in a major hormonal break out. I will tell you more about this later and my journey to recovery (exaggeration so don't expect too much). I've always noticed how I'm always one step behind in posting things. I get an idea and realize that I should have posted it a week or at least a day sooner. For example this post, in an hour it'll be Christmas already. I should have posted this a week ago. Timing is everything in life.

Sleep In More: Fast and Quick Make Up for School/Work

With so much to do in our busy lives, there's almost never enough time to do it all. Sleep is usually the only thing we can cut back on. An extra 15 or 20 minutes can mean a lot! With this easy tutorial that should take you less than 5 minutes, you can sleep in and still look put together to face the day ahead! (no pun intended...)
All you will need are the items in the picture above.
  1. BB Cream/Foundation
  2. Concealer
  3. Powder
  4. Powder Brush
  5. Tinted Lip Balm
  6. Eye Lash Curler
  7. Mascara
  8. Cream Blush
First Step: Dot your BB cream or foundation on the five areas of your face as shown and spread evenly with your fingers. This allows for quick application. Make sure your hands are clean!
Second Step: Cover your under eye area with a waterproof concealer to hide any dark circles. Also dot on any imperfections. The concealer should match your skin tone. Use your ring finger to pat in the concealer to avoid damaging the fragile skin under the eyes.
Third Step: Lightly sweep loose powder over entire face with a powder brush. I'm using the Guerlain meteorites powder which has different colored pearls that create a flawless finish.
All that should take you only a minute or two! Flawless complexion? CHECK

Fourth Step: Apply cream blush to both eyelids, as eyeshadow, and also on the cheeks. Spread it out with your fingers. (I look like a clown in first picture :P)
Fifth Step: Curl your lashes and add lots of mascara. This helps open the eyes and creates the illusion of eyeliner. Eyes? CHECK in only two easy steps :D
Last Step: Apply a tinted lip balm which not only moisturizes but also adds some color and life into the lips.
That's It! Piece of Cake right? Now go make better use of your time conquering the world! Muahahha
